Children love nothing more than playing, so enjoying yourself becomes one of the most effective forms of education. In Salesians Donostia we focus on such games didactically.

The students undertake these activities with enthusiasm. Playing stimulates students and strengthens their creativity, as the unexpected situations that arise encourage them to improvise and search for solutions. In addition, there are games that are done in teams and teach them the importance of cooperating to achieve an end result.

In Salesians we encourage curiosity and a critical spirit in children, so that they want to know more. The students enjoy themselves spontaneously and this makes the transfer of knowledge more effective.

To achieve this, we use many different techniques, such as drama, excursions, open-air games and other teaching techniques.

Because learning by enjoying yourself is much more effective. In Salesians Donostia we work on the multiple intelligences of all the students, and we do this through Musical Drama.

Our Salesian school in Donostia-San Sebastian is a benchmark in this field, having our own School Theatre, GAZTETXO ANTZERKI ESKOLA, and the best equipped School Assembly Hall in all Gipuzkoa.

«STAGE»: English Language Innovation Project.

In this project we use performing arts to standardise the use of English and facilitate its learning. The students learn English enjoyably and effortlessly, developing a positive attitude to the language. The mise-en-scene is done before mothers, fathers, students and teachers.

These are the different types of intelligence that are developed through this project:

Linguistic intelligence: The students develop their capacity of oral and gestural expression, connecting with the public through language, reciting the text, communicating with facial expression, bodily Logical-mathematical intelligence: The students give shape to musical sequences, they count the movements, seek the logic of entering and exiting the scene, adapting the movements of the machinery and props to the musical sequences. All within a logic that keeps the spectator in the story.

Spatial intelligence: The students develop their capacity to visualise the scene, correct movements and positions, with the aim of the spectator capturing a harmonious and aesthetic work.

Musical intelligence: It develops all their musical intelligence with the bodily interpretation of the songs, with vocal interpretation and with the synchronisation of music and machine.

Bodily and kinaesthetic intelligence:The students express the emotions and feelings that the choreography requires, with their body (eyes, face, hands, arms, legs…).

Intra-personal intelligence: Individuals capable of accessing their feelings and emotions and reflecting on these, as well as understanding the reasons why one is the way he is.

Interpersonal intelligence: the capacity to interpret words or gestures, or the objectives and challenges of each discourse. Interpersonal intelligence accesses the capacity to empathise with others.

Naturalist intelligence: The students develop a project from start to finish, their efforts in overcoming difficulties encountered (learning the script, mastering the choreography, interpreting their character…), as the project evolves, mean the students themselves evolve. The final objective is to achieve success: work well done and THE APPLAUSE OF THE PUBLIC.
